Differentiating Facial Features - Intro
Spirit Art Portraiture facial structure-Prerequisite for 4 session class and free exploration
Service Description
For mediums pursuing Spirit Art Portraiture, this free introductory class presents a foundation for drawing the human face. We will focus on basic structure and proportional placement of facial features. This foundation class is the prerequisite and introduction to a four class course exploring how to capture individuality and distinguishing characteristics when drawing the human face. The subsequent course will provide practice in both seeing faces and drawing them by focusing on one feature or set of features each week. From the lip line to the nose, to jowl creases, and face shapes, each class in the subsequent course series will isolate one portion of the face to help participants develop their ability to capture more feature variations in their spirit art portraiture. This is not a class in how to receive images from spirit. We will practice noticing characteristics of different faces and capturing them in more realistic ways in drawings. Materials needed: Your favorite drawing tools Sketchbook of the weight and quality paper that supports the media you wish to use. I use a fountain pen and watercolor brush, and favor watercolor paper for my work. Please use the paper and tools you enjoy working with.
