Painting with watercolor and pastel into wet paper makes me work quickly and intuitively. The interplay of watercolor's transparency and pastel's opacity create exciting combinations of color.

Watercolor works equally well for large, well-developed paintings as for my sketch diaries where I paint vignettes of what is around me.
