Monotypes - The Process of Discovery
|
|
When I create a monotype, I draw an outline on a plexiglass plate, apply ink one color at a time and use different techniques to manipulate that layer of ink. Once the ink is as I want it, I transfer it onto paper using a hand-cranked printing press. Since each color is applied, manipulated and transferred to paper separately, each piece evolves an expression and narrative of its own.
